Chapter 18: The Wind Returns
Before daybreak, every window in the bay sounded once.
Someone found a childhood apology beside the pillow. Someone saw a dead husband's last instruction on the stove. Someone else received a blank page carrying only the clean taste of wind, which meant the other person had already let go.
The lighthouse no longer only sent letters outward.
It began bringing lost words home. The old man understood that what he had kept was not light, and not wind, but the moment when people became willing to face one another.
